EVENT: Talk by Mr. Jay Jayamohan on 24 Jan 2023 (Tuesday) at IIST

Let's meet in the Council hall, Admin Block at 3.00pm to listen to the speaker. The talk will be followed by discussions with the representatives of STIIC startup companies.
A short intro about the speaker
Jay Jayamohan is the Executive Director of the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Harrisburg University (HU). He leads the effort that strategically positions HU to have a greater impact – economic & social – by having innovative thinkers and entrepreneurs from and around Central PA coming together with students and faculty to collaborate on ideas and solve problems. He also teaches Innovation & Strategy at George Mason University School of Business.
Jay is a serial entrepreneur who co-founded RollStream, JobNavs and Synteras. As founder and CEO of RollStream, a SAAS company, he grew the firm from concept to over 100 people globally, raised tens of millions in venture capital and won numerous accolades including ‘top 100 supply and demand chain vendors in 2008’.
Recently Jay was chosen as newsmaker by Comcast Newsmakers.

STIIC incubatees are invited to conscientia space expo!
Conscentia is IIST's annual tech festival, that brings together students of high caliber and aptitude from both campus and other colleges throughout the country. A variety of events offered at this fest provide participants with the opportunity to showcase their technical skills. This marks the Conscentia with the theme "Suit up Vyomnauts" referencing the Indian Human Space Flight program.
You will be provided space and shelter (free of cost) based on your requirements. We just request you to come and take part of our space expo. We are going to get a footfall of above 2000 people so many people are going to know about what kind equipment and research is going in iist, So it going to create a huge chance for publicity to IIST itself.

EVENT: National Conference on "Development of Space Start-up Ecosystem in India (DeSSEI: देशी) Bengaluru, India 2

The conference organised by ASI will brought together space industry experts from Government viz. ISRO/IN-SPACe/DRDO etc., Non-Government Private Entities (NGPE), space start-up entrepreneurs, researchers and students on a common platform to deliberate ways and means to develop NGPE space vertical in the country. The seminar aimed to synergize efforts in shaping the architecture of next generation space sector revolution in India and provided wonderful networking opportunity to STIIC startups.

Event: Inauguration of STIIC office complex by Shri S. Somanath, Director IIST/VSSC
Date & Time: 12.01.2022 (Wednesday), 09.30 hrs
In yet another landmark, STIIC had the inauguration of its office complex by Director Sri S. Somanath on Jan 12, 2022 in the presence of Registrar, Deans, Professors, staff and the representatives from the incubated startup companies.
STIIC strives to facilitate incubation of new enterprises with innovative technologies. In its commitment towards assisting Nation’s goal of achieving self-reliance (aatmanirbharata), STIIC aim to admit aspiring companies/entrepreneur teams and support their novel business ventures. Being located inside the vibrant campus of IIST, the incubatees get an extra edge of access to high end facilities and close interactions with the Professors in the campus and Scientists/Engineers from various ISRO centres.
In addition to mentoring and infrastructure support, STIIC also would back the startups in their investment search processes by organizing meet-ups, demoday events including pitch deck competitions with a larger participation from the ISRO experts so that their companies get better visibility and find suitable investments. STIIC has already established linkages with Kerala StartUp Mission, Niti Ayog, Atal Innovation Mission etc and will expand further in the coming days. While the emphasis of the STIIC is on Space related innovations/technologies, it covers all areas of science and technology in harmony with the Nation’s interest. Through STIIC, IIST aims to capitalize on the brain power, idealism, enthusiasm and courage of the young people in the country and thereby bring those wealth to the benefits of global community, upholding the dream of its first Chancellor Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
